Response of Reinforced Concrete Beams under the Combined Effect of Cyclic Loading and Carbonation

چکیده
To compare the deterioration mechanism of reinforced concrete beams between combined effect cyclic loading and carbonation sum both individual factors, an optimized test procedure was introduced in this study. The macroscopic microscopic results showed that decrease resistance could be attributed to changes pore structures crack patterns by loading. However, process flexural tensile corresponding different procedures presented trends. It indicated action fatigue damage more serious than caused superposition. Finally, a theoretical model subjected proposed validated comparing it with previous experimental results. research findings are significant for improving accuracy evaluation residual service life bridges early warning durability protection.

Behaviour of Reinforced Fibrous Concrete Beams under Reversed Cyclic Loading
When earthquakes occur, energy released by the earthquake gets induced into the structure as ground motion and this energy has to be dissipated for safety reasons. To release seismic energy, the structure should damage in such a way that on one hand, collapse of structure should not occur and on the other hand, after the earthquake, damage should be economically feasible to repair. To avoid the...

To assess the performance criteria of the reinforced-concrete, five-storey residential buildings common in Iran, an experimental study in the structural laboratory of the University of Tehran has been conducted. The test program includes cyclic and monotonic load tests of six beams that represent three-to-five storey buildings with rigid frame structures. Using definitions given in FEMA-356 a...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Reinforced Concrete Wall Response under Uni- and Bi- Directional Loading
During an earthquake, structures are subjected to both horizontal and vertical shaking. Most structures are rather insensitive to variations in the vertical acceleration history and primary considerations are given to the impact of the horizontal shaking on the behavior of structures. In the laboratory, however, most component tests are carried out under uni-directional horizontal loading to si...
